Fareof needs both a sending mailbox and access to its reply inbox. A send-only SMTP relay is not enough to follow replies. Use a mailbox you control and its provider’s current connection settings.
Before you begin
Have your mailbox address, SMTP host and port, IMAP host and port, and the required password or app password ready. Obtain these from your mailbox provider. Fareof’s workflow provider costs are included in Pro. Account restrictions and sending limits still apply.
Connect and verify
- Sign in to Fareof and complete your profile. During onboarding, finish the LinkedIn pairing step before mailbox setup.
- Choose your mailbox provider, or Custom SMTP and IMAP. Enter the real mailbox address and the provider’s connection details.
- Add your sending identity and signature. Check that the address is the account you intend to use for outreach.
- Choose Save and test mailbox. Both sending authentication and inbox access must pass. This verification checks the connection without sending an email.
- After verification, return to your campaign. Completing setup or checkout does not start outreach; start the agent when you are ready.
If verification fails
Read the error for the failing direction. For SMTP, check sending credentials, the host and port, and whether the provider allows SMTP access. For IMAP, check inbox access and the IMAP settings separately. If your provider requires an app password, use that rather than repeatedly retrying the normal account password.
Pause a running campaign before changing the mailbox. Save and test the new settings before restarting. Avoid switching credentials while a message is in flight.
Where email runs
Eligible email activity runs on the server. In General outreach, email steps can depend on LinkedIn connection, acceptance, and direct-message steps; those emails wait until their prerequisites complete.
Next: set up campaign targeting. If a connection remains blocked, contact Fareof support with the error and provider name. Never include passwords or app passwords.
