How to Create a BIMI-Compliant SVG Logo
BIMI requires your logo to conform to the SVG Tiny PS (Portable/Secure) profile — a restricted subset of SVG that prohibits external references, scripts, animations, and most filter effects, ensuring safe rendering in email clients.
To convert a standard SVG: open in Inkscape and go to File → Save As → select "SVG Tiny 1.2". Alternatively, use an online BIMI SVG validator such as those provided by Postmark or the BIMI Group.
Getting a VMC Certificate
A Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) is issued by accredited Certificate Authorities — currently DigiCert and Entrust. The process requires your logo to be a registered trademark in relevant jurisdictions.
VMC certificates typically cost $1,000–$1,500/year. Once issued, host the .pem file at a stable public HTTPS URL and reference it in the a= tag.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I publish the BIMI TXT record?
Publish at default._bimi.yourdomain.com in your DNS provider. Set type to TXT and paste the generated value.
What DMARC policy is required?
Your DMARC record must use p=quarantine or p=reject. A p=none policy does not satisfy BIMI requirements.
How long until my logo appears in Gmail?
After DNS propagates (1–48 hours) and all requirements are met, allow 1–7 days for Gmail to start displaying the logo consistently.
